I took a Sinclair calculator to University, they were the Iphone of that generation.
I was an avid Spectrum user, I remember adding the exta memory, the microdrives and a "proper" keyboard... and writing utility software.
Then I moved on to the QL - at £299, plus another £99 for a moving-key keyboard and £399 for memory expansion and a pair of floppy disks..... you could buy a decent laptop for that money today!! I also bought ICE, which was a joystick-controlled graphic interface years when windows was a dream....
That was the end of my Sinclair experience - I never fancied the washing-machine on wheels or squintvision (although I remember a friend having the second generation TV)
RIP Sir Clive
