Alan Lancaster, bassist and founder-member of Status Quo, in Australia, aged 72.

He formed the band in 1962 with Francis Rossi and stayed with them until 1985 and Live Aid, after which he left the group, having been replaced by session musician John 'Rhino' Edwards.
In March 2013 he rejoined his old bandmates Rossi, Parfitt and John Coghlan for a "Frantic Four" tour.
