Should voting be made compulsory?
At the last general election, 16 million potential voters failed to take part on polling day, and a disproportionate number of them were 18 to 24-year-olds. In Australia, where voting has been compulsory since 1924, turnout is 93 per cent.

I don't think it should be compulsory
But i do think it should be encouraged
When i give blood you get free tea/coffee and biscuits and there's a good atmosphere
When I vote it's like school all a bit serious , ask you your name, mark you in their book 'tell you to go and stand in the booth No talking

Electronic voting via the net is being mooted for 2020.

So if there are only 3 candidates :- Tory ,Labour and Lib Dems, but you normally vote for the Green Party candidate, should you be forced to vote ?

TBH I think it is for the 2020 General election but their maybe local elections on the same day, usually are. Can't see it taking off myself. Every polling stn will need to be wired up as well as not all will be able to vote at home. I can't see a system of half and half. Wide open to abuse otherwise. But who knows. There are cleverer people than me around who can spend a fortune on IT. As for underdogs polls, well those are already 100% on the net. No paper voting allowed. Which gives me an idea
maybe I should create a poll for imutual to allow paper voting.
