The performance of our investments during the week ending 15th January was as follows:


ITV fell 7.1p to £2.59, a loss of -2.7%
Originally bought 246 at £2.52 on 28 Aug 2015

GlaxoSmithKline fell 8p to £13.64, a loss of -0.6%
Originally bought 38 at £14.71 on 21 May 2015

United Utilities fell 24p to £9.10, a loss of -2.6%
Originally bought 60 at £9.56 on 26 Feb 2015

Sainsbury (J) rose 2p to £2.44, a gain of 0.8%
Originally bought 200 at £2.79 on 26 Feb 2015

Share plc stayed unchanged at 28p
Originally bought 500 at 40.7p on 8 Oct 2014

The FTSE 100 index fell 109 points to 5805 points, a loss of -1.8%


The total value of our investments fell £30.91 to £2330.05, a loss of -1.3%

ITV rose 2.8p to £2.62, a gain of 1.1%
Originally bought 246 at £2.52 on 28 Aug 2015

GlaxoSmithKline rose 28p to £13.92, a gain of 2.1%
Originally bought 38 at £14.71 on 21 May 2015

United Utilities rose 9p to £9.19, a gain of 1%
Originally bought 60 at £9.56 on 26 Feb 2015

Sainsbury (J) fell 10.3p to £2.34, a loss of -4.2%
Originally bought 200 at £2.79 on 26 Feb 2015

Share plc stayed unchanged at 28p
Originally bought 500 at 40.7p on 8 Oct 2014

The FTSE 100 index rose 96 points to 5901 points, a gain of 1.7%


The total value of our investments rose £2.33 to £2332.38, a gain of 0.1%

Being pedantic it's a loss of 4.2% not -4.2%. :)

A loss of -4.2% is actually a gain of 4.2%. :)

1 - (-4.2%) = 1 + 4.2%

Soap opera SBRY doing well even though they are going to buy Argos owners Home Retail Group for a hefty sum.

Yes, but seeing how the share value has gone over the past nearly 1yr, I can see a gain on Monday of some of the losses by this week's losing shares and SBRY making a loss. This seems to be the way it works. It would be nicer if SBRY would also gain but predicting things is seemingly impossible with this share!
