photos of food

Post by blythburgh » Mon Apr 17, 2017 8:35 am

I just heard that 40% of diners take a photo of their food to share on social media.

Are the 40% mad or are the 60% just old fashioned?

Is it boring or interesting to see what your social media friends are eating?

Thankfully the (admittedly rather small) number of Facebook friends I have do not share photos of what they are about to eat. And I have no intention of starting a trend. When the food is delivered to my table I want to eat it whilst it is still hot and enjoy it not waste my precious time photographing it and sending the result into the ether.

Just another example of vicarious living - everything must be done witha an eye to gaining the approval of one's peers

I'm not sure where this will stop - are people posting the after-effects of their meal directly from the toilet - or is that the next step? :?

The Hitchkiker's Guide to the Universe had the comment "Don't Panic!" on the cover and Arthur C. Clarke said that this was perhaps the best advice that could be given to humanity.

Were Douglas Adams still alive, perhaps he could get all smartphone manufacturers to print "Get a Life!" across their products! :shifty:
