Cashback claims

Post by mandy30 » Mon May 01, 2017 1:04 pm

Hi
Can anyone tell me how cashback works please,it says I have £48.80 and 766 shares. When I go to my statement it says Cashback pending £23.25,Available balance £25.55 why cant I claim the full £48.80,I,m a bit confused by this.
Also how do you know what your shares are worth and how do you cash those in too?

The £48 is 'Pending'
That means the transaction has been recorded but the merchant has not paid Imutual
The moment the merchant pays Imutual the status will change to 'Awarded' and you can claim your money
Shares have an Unknown value and cannot be exchanged for cash

I applied for a Santander current account on 8/2/2017 via imutual. The cash-back was £31 and is showing in my account as Claim Pending.

The stated Reward Time was 13 weeks, the acceptance rate 96.7% and the rejection rate (eventually I assume) 28%.

It is now well over two months since the end of the Reward Time, I asked about my cash-back two weeks ago via e-mail and I've had no acknowledgement nor a reply.

Totally losing faith in imutual as a consequence. It seemed too good to be true at the outset, and I never believed that I would ever receive any real shares worth anything. So I'd just be happy for the cash-back, if it should ever be granted to me. The experience hasn't encouraged me to do any more buying via imutual.

Am I being unreasonable?

Better to raise a query http://www.imutual.co.uk/queries Normally dealt with within a couple of days. Assuming you applied for the Everyday account @ £31.00 CB, Cashback is normally paid to you once imutual recieves the money from the merchant and the Reward Time stated should only be used as a guide. All merchants vary. The Everyday account is covered by the Cashback guarantee so there should not be a problem if it was rejected.

Hi. We've replied to your query but thought I'd update this public post just to reassure others that we're not ignoring you!

Your claim was submitted on 19 April and passed to the merchant on the same day. We try to get all our merchants to resolve claims within 80 days (a long time I know) but in this case it didn't happen. We updated your claim on 5 July, apologising for the delay.

But given how long you've waited, we have now awarded your claim and I can see that you have requested payment.

The cashback guarantee does not apply to this offer.

It did before it was suspended.
