Are you 'game' for the best cashback rates?

Post by richard@imutual » Thu Dec 15 2011 1:09pm

Game Group is Europe's largest retailer of PC and video games and imutual has "cashback and shares" offers at their three flagship brands: Game, Gamestation and Gameplay. Games are one of the most frequent purchases by cashback site members

Following in the footsteps of our initiative to offer more cashback at Play.com than any major cashback site, we are now pledging to do the same with these three popular retailers

So with immediate effect we've increased the cashback to 10% at all three (compared to the typical offer of 3.5-4% for these retailers at other "100%" cashback sites). Although we can't promise to maintain 10% indefinitely, we are pledging to keep these cashback rates higher than other sites indefinitely

I hope you'll all be able to make the most of this generous offer, and also spread the good news to others who have yet to try imutual :)

Nice 1 - as an avid gamer, and the fact Gamestation accepts Paypal, I'll maybe be using my earned cashback from here to pay for Gamestation purchases through here...

That's hard to follow! Sounded good in my head! Their prices are overinflated at the best of times but they are usually good for a bargain or 2, especially with the 10% now.

Yes, exactly. All of these sites have 'special promotions' from time to time. Further discussion on this initiative is here in our Shareholders forum

Genuine Question. I spent over £280 this morning at about 7am...You posted the offer at 13.00....Will I get the great new cashback rate?

We increased the cashback rate at midday. I can understand your frustration at having bought a few hours before the increase, and don;'t blame you for asking. But while it's tempting to say "Yes" to keep a loyal member happy, I think this would set a dangerous precedent. It might be different if the merchant had increased our commission from the start of the day and we only got around to changing the offer after you'd done your transaction; but that' s not the case here. I hope you understand my reasoning

If course, if the majority of members feel strongly that I should, I'd have to reconsider. But I would worry that we'd keep getting "I just missed out on extra cashback" pleas from members in the future :(

I agree with Richard
If you bought petrol and an hour later the garage reduced the price, you wouldn't get a refund
