Perhaps just reducing some of the BBC Executives 1st Class travel expenses and regular taxi fares from Salford to London should be their first goal rather than taking away the free TV Licence for the over 75's with partners/carers under 75 living in the same property.

For once I agree (don't get used to it!)
Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get me

It's a news story from last year about a proposed change.

Why post it now?

I agree with the point made that some pensioners aged 75 or more do not need free licences but worry about those who really are struggling.

My brother in law (by marriage) has very good pensions from his jobs, his wife has a private pension and all the perks as she was a Partner in John Lewis Partnership for enough years to keep all the perks after retirement. He qualifies this month for a free licence. No I have not reminded them to claim it but no doubt they have done so.

On the other hand every winter we hear about pensioners who cannot afford to eat and heat. Many of them do not realise they can get Pension Credit either.

And why is it up to the Beeb? This was brought in by the Government and then offloaded to the Beeb
Keep smiling because the light at the end of someone's tunnel may be you, Ron Cheneler
