Your Football Team

Post by butler1882 » Fri Nov 16 2018 11:15am

Ive looked but can't see a topic.

Who is your team? Any particular reason for following them?

Who do you dislike?

My team is Burnley. Mainly because I live here and have been a fan since my Dad used to carry me over the turnstiles when I was a little un. Despite him being a Man City fan and following them since he was a young lad he wanted me to support my local team.

Dislike - Blackburn Rovers, Man United, Leeds, Liverpool, Celtic

My Team: Middlesbrough FC / Supa Boro / Boro / Smoggies / How'ay the Lads!!!

Why: Like most people who support a team because it was their local team; supported Boro man & boy and stood by them through thick & thin times...! Back on the mend now after a few years in the wilderness of the mid table in the Championship.

Derby Teams: Newcastle Utd., Sunderland, Leeds Utd.

Best Game Attended: 2007/8 Season in Premier League: Boro 8:1 Manchester City closely followed by the League Cup Final 2003/4 season win against Bolton at Cardiff Millennium Stadium

Teams Disliked: Bring 'em on!

Norwich City and Aldershot Town

Would love it if Leeds replaced Sunderwho in League One

Brighton and Hove Albion - Seagulls - The Right Stripes!

Grew up in Royal Tunbridge Wells two buses out of town the Greenline went to London through Notting Hill Gate and the other, a Southdown, to Brighton. My dad would not let me go alone to London but was OK with me going to Brighton on my own (Yeah I know makes no sense) so I became a Brighton fan rather than a Millwall one.

Despite moving to Birmingham at the age of 15 I have stayed relatively loyal serving as an official club photographer for some years and now a season ticket holder in the North stand at the Cathedral of football The American Express Community Stadium - The Amex - Falmer.

Derby Team - we ain't really got one except the made up A23 Derby with some team from south London.

Best Game attended - have missed so many being so far away and poor during our previous best years I think the games against Donny in and Hereford 97 rank as the best and most nerve racking at the same time.
Bristol Rovers at the Millennium Stadium play off final (again as an official photographer)
Most emotional though was as an official photographer at the first game at The Amex again against Donny (deliberately so because our last at the Goldstone was also Donny) I was in tears on the pitch before the game to see this big crowd all decked out in blue and white all flying flags.
Our first game in the premier was also a fix as our last in the old First Division was also Man City this was also quite emotional as I had missed the celebration at the Wigan game due to ill health.

Teams disliked - Any team that keeps on beating us.

Rather than Brighton if you had travelled the other way you had ended up in London (Notting hill gate) Chelsea not Millwall would have been your team...
