No reruns of his biggest hit show as it would be considered racist. But it reflected the reality of the time it was set.

Don't forget the other guy "blacking up" as an Indian - probably be considered ultra-wrong by the BBC management in the current climate

Oddly enough, 'Allo 'Allo! another wartime Croft/Perry sitcom is repeated regularly. Apparently it's OK to portray the German occupation of France as a figure of fun without any reference to forced labour, concentration camps, etc,

'Allo Allo is a piz take out of dramas made about WW2 rather than a spoof about the war
