Bangladesh appears to have disowned her. They said she is nothing to do with them as she is British born by birth.

Story here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47312207
Well, no surprise there.....

Ball back in Javid's court, methinks
He will do nothing until there is a court case which he will fight to the end over two-three years the only people to gain anything out of this as I said at the beginning will be the lawyers.

There is still a possibility of course that the Dutch might take her.

As an after thought Bangladesh can at the moment disown her whatever their law says. I doubt very much she has made an application to them, so of course they are right when they say she is not a citizen.

Unless the laws have change any child born to a British subject is deemed to be British.
I think I'm right in saying that as she has a Bangadesh mother she is Bangladesh
And, to be fair we did disown her first
A Few lawyers rubbing their hands methinks
I suspect we will end up taking her back
That the sort of country we are
Just my opinion

From the BBC website

Lawyers have told the BBC that under Bangladesh law, a UK national born to a Bangladeshi parent is automatically a Bangladeshi citizen

Under this "blood line" law, Bangladeshi nationality and citizenship lapse when a person reaches the age of 21, unless they make active efforts to retain it.

So, it is Ms Begum's age, 19, that is likely - in part - to have given Home Office lawyers and the home secretary reassurance there was a legal basis for stripping her of her UK citizenship.

Lots of budding international lawyers here...

But morally I think she should be let back into the country...

- and then tried for treason, along with the rest of here sordid, murderous, excuse for humanity, mob.

Of course the other way of looking at it is yes try her for treason and watch the case get thrown out of court as there will be no case to answer.

There is a definite case to re-instate that legislation and expanding/modernising its effectiveness...!

Especially in this brave new world we find ourselves in with all its present dangers...

Off topic, as the legislation does not exist to try this woman for treason. It is not relevant to the current discussion.

This is a discussion forum and as a regular visitor to iMutual I often see items discussed that drift off topic but in this case an expansion of the present case to discuss the modernising of the Treason Laws is hardly an "Off Topic" move...
