Before you buy a print check out the art galleries and art shows, you might be able to buy an original for about the same price. And nobody else will have that on their wall.

When I moved to this area, the local "Art Club" had a permanent exhibition and we bought some botanical illustrations and "Turneresque" wash views of the Deben at very good prices. I still love them.

Then, on a trip to Southwold, we went into a gallery and there was a watercolour of a Mallard, which now has pride of place in my lounge.

Together with a couple of auction finds, French botanical illustration prints bought on the rive gauche back in the 80s and C18th hand-coloured architectural prints bought from a friend in Provence, that's my "collection"
