Theresa May has said she will quit as Conservative leader on 7 June, paving the way for a contest to decide a new prime minister.

Oh good, it feels like ages since we had a Tory leadership contest in the middle of an international relations crisis.

Theresa May tried her very best. Almost EVERYONE was against her for very different reasons. She's a resilient lady to have made it his far.

I now look to the future that we can put Brexit behind us one way or another.

Nothing changes, Brexit is here for a good few years yet. Any new Prime Minister still has to get it through Parliament and unless the arithmetic changes ie: General Election, or a new deal is agreed with the EU there is no majority for any option. Plenty of fireworks still to come. Europe may see another one or two PM's out yet.

I agree. The EU has said renegotiating the withdrawal agreement is not an option. Our Parliament is dead set against it.
That leaves two options: No deal (previously voted off the table) or suspend article 50 at least temporarily. Given that we are predicted to have just voted a bunch of trouble-makers into the EU Parliament, the EU is unlikely to enjoy giving us longer to mess things up.

This may only be the end of the beginning.

If it was only up to us I'd agree
But I cant see the EU wanted it to rumble on and on
Only they have the power to extend the departure date
Nothing we can do
