There are many great political campaigns to spend things on - even pro-EU ones. But this publicity stunt court case by a slightly dodgy man is a waste of money for those who contributed to the crowndfunding campaign.
I think only the donors can judge if they have wasted their money. Their contribution has made it possible to bring a politician before the law and to raise the question of when it is acceptable to knowingly lie when in public office. The donors may consider it a good use of their money.

I'm not quite sure what's 'slightly dodgy' about the person bringing the case.

The campaign website has a downloadable schedule detailing and explaining expenditure. The Telegraph
has attempted a hatchet job on him which looks like a repackaging of selected information from this.

The crowdfunder pages itemise all of the contributions - admittedly many are anonymous. Most are £10-£20; scanning through, the largest I saw was £300. Compare the sizeable funding for the Leave campaign from a single individual with questions being asked about the provenance of the money.

Boris has himself admitted making up some claims about the EU - IIRC he wrote a completely fictitious story in The Spectator about the curvature of bananas.

The problem is that Boris shares his background with the majority of judges, so his calumnies will be passed off as "banter", just as his infidelities are passed off as "being a lad", his ineptitude as London Mayor is seen as a success and recordings of him discussing violence with a "chum" have been ignored...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9MUwBEJRwk

Another thing from QT was the blatant description of Brexit party supporters not as "members" but "subscribers". I'm sure the executive committee will sort that out, once Nigel decides to allow one.....

Boris Johnson was a member of the Bullilngdon Club and I do not think he has changed in any way since. A disabled child helped David Cameron see the world as it really is.

Johnson still seems to think he can do what he wants as long as he uses his charm and his money to smooth things over. The way he treated his last wife over the years is proof of that surely.

Hopefully the endorsement from Donald will scupper Boris...... surely the world would implode with that pair of dorks in power simultaneously

On the other hand, maybe Boris should get the job..... then when he fails miserably to get Brexit through Parliament his card will be marked and he can go back to being a back-bench irritant.
