Share club valuation @ 2 Jun 2019

Here are the figures for the Cashback Investment Club's latest valuation, based on our investments and cash holdings as at 2 Jun

Since the last valuation on 21 Apr, the club's unit price has dropped from £0.8539 to £0.8326, a change of -2.49%. See Unit price calculations

Members have paid a further £141.57 into the club since 21 Apr, and these have been converted to units at the new price of £0.8326. You can see a history of your own payments here

We currently have 15 members who have made 359 payments into the club totalling £6,570.85. The total value of our current assets is £5,754.04. Our list of our past investment decisions can be found here, and valuations of our current holdings (based on market mid-prices) can be viewed here

Our current cash holdings consist of £315.14 held in our Co-op bank account, + a further £2,897.71 held in our Share Centre dealing account.

£2,897.71 + £315.14 is a lot of hard cash to just be sitting upon.

That could have been £5,000+ if you had taken my 2 short-term punts for Metro Bank and Thomas Cook. I am still holding shares in these two holdings but cashed out just over my initial investment figure so any gains and future dividends are completely free for me; and even if both investment crash out I am still in pocket... Doesn't make sense to sit on cash unless you want to spend it on something!

Just an initial idea for the investment club: had anyone ever thought about establishing a monthly investment into a share that may not be doing well now but has lots of future prospect? This way you build up a future substantial investment and if it floats downwards in value initially (that's not a problem) well then its cheaper and your monthly investment buys more shares!!! (£pound cost averaging) :thumbup:
