I consider it a perfectly proper answer. Not sure what you mean by "You lot" Cant speak for others but I am an individual with my own independent thoughts.

If they do not want the job as Expressman says perhaps they should be looking for other jobs. I doubt that the salary from the EU will be their only source of income, after all none of them seem to be worrying where their income will come from after 31st October.

Nigel Farage for one seems to have a nice line in Sugar Daddies.
...but it didn't answer the question so how can it be a "proper answer"?

Isn't that avoiding a proper answer? Something you lot don't agree with - sound desperately like double standards to me...!?!

So what would you do if you were in their position and your only source of income was as an MEP?
I would suggest that by asking the above it is you that is avoiding a proper answer.

So what would you do if [being an MEP] was your job and only source of income?
They gave up whatever they were doing in April to stand. As Ms Sarah notes, they could have done as Sinn Fein MPs do - not take their seat and not draw the salary. They could then have continued to do whatever they were doing before.

And there remains no excuse for the rudeness.
So what would you do if you were in their position and your only source of income was as an MEP?
So you quit your job to take on a job you not only don't want to do, but you want to bring down the company that employs you. You expected that you job would never actually start, but it has somehow, despite your best efforts.

Your question, Boro Boy, is "would I take the pay packet?"

Personally, I'm not so spiteful, vindictive and short-sighted that I would take on a job just to end it by deliberately undermining my new employer.
But then, neither would I complain about having to commute to my workplace, or being given tools to do my job, so maybe I'm just not in the same headspace as the Brexit Party MEPs.

If they really believe it is OK to take the money for not doing the job (indeed actively arguing against there even being a job), then I hope their employment is short-lived.

Me, no, I wouldn't be there in the first place, and if I didn't want the job, I'd be looking for another as soon as possible.

All the posters complaining about the Brexit EMPs turning their back
How many of you stand and sing ‘God save the queen?’

If I'm at an event where it's being played, let's say a football match, then yes.

In any case, there's a distinct difference between not standing, and turning your back.

It might be justified to suspend Godwin's Law if they're really going to take cues from the National Socialist playbook. I was nevertheless quite impressed to hear pro-leave broadcaster Iain Dale starkly tell the Brexit Party leader that his behaviour had brought shame on this country, during their 7pm junction last night.

your spin: "It [Jaguar confirming the new model XJ will be made in the UK] is not good news or a sign of faith in the country, it's just not bad news!"
As I understand it, JLR don't have the capacity to make this car anywhere else. AFAIK, their only model made outside the UK is the new Defender, to be assembled in Slovakia. Whilst I lack specific knowledge of JLR , opening two new manufacturing plants at the same time sounds like more than they might want to risk. Therefore the practical choice was to make the car in the UK or not at all.

So yes, just not bad news.

Stepping back a little on the jobs question

No business has said that it is coming to the UK, is investing in the UK, is creating jobs in the UK because of Brexit.
Some large businesses have said that they are remaining in the UK despite Brexit.
More have said they are leaving – or will leave in the event of no deal.

So for all the supposed benefits we get (and remember, leaving the EU hasn’t convinced any business to come to the UK), we start off having needlessly lost tens of thousands of jobs.

They are those who believe in Brexit and then there is bl**dy Farage and his hand picked patsies. A bit like the those who support a football club and go to enjoy the game and those who support the club but hope for a punch up after watching the game.

Mr Farage is good at what he does.
