Money monitoring Apps

Post by butler1882 » Thu Aug 29 2019 7:32am

Hi

What apps do people use to monitor their spending. I know I flutter away too much money and want to monitor where it’s going. Is there a free app for IPhone people recommend?

Thank you

I find cash a great way to monitor spending. 'im indoors just buys what he needs and not just buy because it is in front of him but he prefers the debit card.

Not sure an app will really help: you have to decide what is essential, what is discretionary, and where there is scope for economy.

Download all of your spend over the last month (or three months) to Excel.

Analyse into what/where.

Multiply up to annual spend.

When you realise that buying a sandwich etc for lunch every day (or whatever) costs you >£1,000 a year, reality will hit.

When buying non food items decide you want it and then go back another day and buy. By then the impulse to buy what you do not really need may well have passed.

Does buying an IPhone qualify as fluttering away too much money? :)
