I think it's the intermittent issue we have with malicious traffic hitting our site. I'm working on it ....

Maybe Richard can tweak the "malicious traffic" to give us the "Edge"?

It's been an eventful day. On a typical day, the site would have about 50,000 hits. By lunchtime today, we had 1.6 million - due to a very large amount of malicious traffic. This in turn caused database corruptions and brief outages :(

From analysing the activity, I've done several things which should help to limit the impact if this happens again. Fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow!

Goodness, I must be at least 3 of those 1.6 million...! ;)

I'm guessing this is just a normal thing for popular sites!?!
