If your pet accepts it. My friend has an older dog she took in as owners returned to country and could not rent anywhere that would accept a pet. Bought a new bed, friend's dogs love theirs. But the result was I would rather sleep on the floor. I put in a towel she had sat on when we all went out in our car (I had returned it that day). Success for a few minutes but come bedtime, bed with towel moved to bedroom but it was the floor again. Luckily the padded base of original bed was still in home so that is in use and new one stays in the hope it will be used
