But there would be immediate improvements to urban air quality - fewer emissions (NOx, particulates, CO)

I wonder if you will be able to say the same for the areas where the batteries are made and disposed of...? :think:

Batteries are all too often chucked in the non recycling bin at home.

We recycle ours and use rechargeable where possible. Too many others do not.

And so the landfill gets the batteries and the poisons in them will seep out into the environment and eventually into water courses

I don't think car batteries for electric cars can be removed and chucked in the bin.

If we don't come third, can we petition for a 2nd or Peoples vote?
I mean, must of the voters didn't really understand what they were voting for and some will have died (fingers crossed)

The 16 and 17 year olds who felt cheated at the time of the referendum because they were allowed a vote in the Scottish one are now 18 or older

I think they're proposing it stops at 16. Are you suggesting it should be lower?
