- Best BT Card Deal?
it's not like that BB. it's my stoozed balance, at 0%. if i were to move it all to HSBC then it would cost me £255, but i'd have their money for 2 years for that. it's cheap money, that can be used to invest, or even saved safely to generate a larger return than that.
Very clever.Sarah wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08 2020 12:17amHow about Santander - 18 months, no fee? Or maybe Halifax - 15 months, no fee?

Basically borrowing to invest - not to be encouraged - personally I would just clear the debt and make life simpler and invest from disposable income.planteria wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08 2020 10:22amit's not like that BB. it's my stoozed balance, at 0%. if i were to move it all to HSBC then it would cost me £255, but i'd have their money for 2 years for that. it's cheap money, that can be used to invest, or even saved safely to generate a larget return than that.
that said, yes, if i can't get a good deal then i'll just clear it instead.
There are hundreds of options of what to do with money and if planteria makes it work for him then full respect to planteria.Boro Boy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08 2020 12:33pmBasically borrowing to invest - not to be encouraged - personally I would just clear the debt and make life simpler and invest from disposable income.planteria wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08 2020 10:22amit's not like that BB. it's my stoozed balance, at 0%. if i were to move it all to HSBC then it would cost me £255, but i'd have their money for 2 years for that. it's cheap money, that can be used to invest, or even saved safely to generate a larget return than that.

i appreciate your concern BB, but it's all under control. fwiw i have more than half of the balance earning 2% with one of my local Co-ops. and as it happens i'm expecting not to borrow more than that by rolling the balance to another provider - largely as i've previously found Nationwide/HSBC/Halifax/Santander to be far more cautious with limits than MBNA and Barclaycard have.
