A lot of women play or watch in person or on tv or must follow football. Good news for men as well as women who do not do like football

Yeah, sport is just for men.
Women, know your place.

Perhaps this story has been misreported.
Perhaps it's more about keeping the tone and style of the conversation suitable to the workplace, as opposed to the pub.

This may have bee an issue back in the 70’s but nowadays, as many women support/follow football teams as men
At one of the places I work, the biggest fan is a lady who goes to all of Leads home games

Political correctness is a fairly outdated term parroted from the rightwing that has recently been reawakened and exploited by Trump essentially to oppose being polite and respectful to others. The purpose is to drive division. If social acceptability is really such a major problem in someone's daily life, it could be beneficial for them to undertake some honest self-reflection and try to consider the effect they're having on others around them. Heaven forbid employees to actually behave professionally at work.

This is one of those BBC articles with thousands of comments. I'm sometimes curious about the type of person that opens a news story, sees there are already 3700 comments and thinks that's not enough, it needs their contribution too; taking a quick look soon answers that question. No surprise to find so many "comment was removed because it broke the house rules" below this particular item.
