Some good news

Post by blythburgh » Thu Mar 19 2020 8:27am

Someone who belongs to a FB swag group has posted that she had her one year cat scan yesterday and she is free of cancer.

OK so you do not know her and I barely know her but it is a good news FB post and we all need to hear some good news stories at the moment

Hmmm, call me a cynic, but I sniff a clearing of back-catalogues......

I heard nothing after my CT-scan in November, although my GP assured me it was clear. When I saw him a couple of weeks back, I expressed my concern that I had reached the point in my monitoring where I have no planned tests of any kind for 18 months. Given that my cancer progressed from nothing to stage 2 in the two years between screening tests, 18 months "blind" is a worry.

Then, yesterday and out of the blue, I got a letter from my surgeon to confirm that my last CT-scan had not indicated any recurrence. I don't think this is a coincidence, but I also think it serves to dampen calls for further testing whilst the NHS is under strain.....

Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get me

The NHS is gearing up for a very different medical setup.
