And then the odious Tim Wetherspoon is interviewed and feels we should still leave the EU at the end of the year. How the hell can we when we cannot negotiate our relationship with them from 1st Jan 2021. Not saying not leave but we must delay the date.
I would hope both chains collapse if it did not mean others will lose their jobs and they do not deserve that.
That's not very nice of you... and I think you'll find his name is Tim Martin, at least get the name right of the man you are insulting...!!!
Tim Martin is one of the most odious of men and I will not cease to insult someone who is out to destroy my country and who continues to insult my intelligence. He is the unacceptable face of captitalism IMHO

A friend, more left wing than me, said a 2 or 3 days ago that if it had been a Labour Govt. who had introduced the current measures the Tory opposition would have been up in arms. I disagreed and said I felt they would have supported the Labour Govt. He replied that he hoped they would but his voice suggested he did not believe me. Obviously we are only phoning each other so no face/body language to guide me.

And online I read someone blaming the people who grew up in the 1980's. Thatcher encouraged us to think of ourselves rather than the community. I am not so sure that she is responsible for the "me first" generation but was rather supporting something that was happening. I cannot help feeling that if Labour had won the 1979, '81 and '87 elections there would still have been the a me first attitude growing stronger among people

Hey, no! Those folks running the country in the 1980s weren't the ones growing up in it. Generation X aren't the problem here, most of us are still working, getting on with being productive in an increasingly stressful world and paying taxes. I hear much more prevalent attitudes of entitlement amongst complacent retirees, sitting fortuitously in their inflated houses on their final salary pensions and voting brexit as-if crashing the economy for no good reason won't even affect them. Then there's those Millennials that obviously don't know they're born, as has been said of every generation before them...

It is believed that in particular, millennial men have been the worst offenders at failing to reduce their contact with other people, continuing to visit pubs, travel widely and take part in other social events, despite being told that doing so risks the lives of the elderly and vulnerable.

The regime says they will pay 80% of your wages...not how under what circumstances but interesting developments today.
It say 80% of you wages, up to £2,500 (Not enough for Chadwick clearly)
It'll barely cover the butler's expense account.

The UK as has been said before has only been testing those who are in hospital threfore the death rate is bound to be higher. The figures are bound to be skewed when other countries are testing everyone. The figures are simply not comparable from country to country. As an accountant expressman33 should be able to work that one out easily enough.

Ummm that's even more worrying.....

The UK CMO said 20,000 dead "would be a good outcome" - that's a mortality rate of some 0.1%.

The Government previously said the mortality rate would be 1%.

The WHO says the mortality rate so far is 3.4%.

But these figures say that the death rate mongst known outcomes (105,566) is 11,949 or 11.32%.

Which do you choose to believe - the "projections" or the actuals?

Ignoring the figures as I do not want to frighten myself or in those immortal words "we doomed, doomed I say" might cross my mind
