I'm Bored

Post by BeautifulSunshine » Sat Mar 21 2020 10:11pm

I miss my old busy, busy. busy life. There is only so much Netflix a Man can watch. I just read this story on the BBC:
A cursory scroll of social media feeds yields image after image of deserted high streets, shut shops and empty roads.

Enter Southwold, however, and you’ll struggle to find somewhere to park.

The market is on, the streets are alive with pedestrian footfall and people are strolling along the seafront taking in the view.

“At the weekend it was just amazing how many people were out and about,” says Keith Newland. “Everywhere was very busy and it was totally different to what you would expect it to be.

“There are shops here right on your doorstep and that means we don’t need the car as everything is available.”

But for occasional walks out to the shops or with their dog, Mr Newland and his wife Judy are effectively self-isolating and not going out to cafes or restaurants.

The couple own a second home in Southwold.

I wish I hadn't put my little getaway on rent (very good money mind). Imagine just getting away from it all to the countryside. Bliss. Truly bliss.

I am bored by your many pointless posts. You claim not to do the dailies so why post in a thread about them for example

And yes, the selfish rich bustards have descended on Southwold and other places where they have second homes or can take their motorhomes to if they are not rich enough (or greedy enough when there is a housing shortage) to own more than one home.

This means that the shops will have to get enough food for even more people, even more home delivery slots that are needed for those who have to self isolate will be taken.

And the local medical staff/hospitals will have more patients who have the virus or another illness.

I can still remember Richard Madeley (of Richard and Judy fame) being interviewed about a programme he had made. The programme was how hard it was for so many to get someone to live. It was pointed out that he and his wife had a 2nd home in Cornwall (where it is especially hard for local born to buy or even rent a home). He was angry about it and brushed away the question. The interviewer (normally a nice easy questions about what the guest is promoting) asked again and Madeley got so angry about it he came close to walking off the set.

So I make no apologies about calling people like him selfish bustards

Regardless of the news, regardless of suggestions, people are in denial and will stay that way until they or someone close to them is affected.

"It's only in China"

"It's only in Italy"

"It's only in London"

"It's only in Southwold"

"It's only next door"

"It's only Granny"

"I don't feel well........"

This is the problem...... self isolation within the home is really difficult (unless you live alone!)

I hope all works out well

Because there sold by weight and the 2nd box had slightly bigger ones.
