well, i had a nice cheque just before Christmas, but i have spread my net fairly laterally within 'mutuals'..

a friend of mine keeps gaining with regular payments from the Sons of Temperance.. what they refer to as his 'pension'. joining SoT was a very useful decision for some.

in terms of a demutualisation of a financial institution, i think we're going back several years now.. i benefitted from Standard Life. have there been any more recently?

another friendly society merger is on the cards.. https://www.kingstonunity.co.uk/sgm/
as it happens this would actually be a remerger. the society split back in the 1800s.

i joined four friendly societies with small monthly tax exempt investment plans back in 2012. this would be the second of the four being 'merged' into The Oddfellows.
