If you think all this is a hoax, if you think it's exaggeration, then think on this guy

Let's be careful out there.

Very worrying for his loved ones but the country does not need to lose a PM at this moment in time. We can only hope and pray he recovers quickly. Cannot help but feel he should have stopped work earlier and give his body the best chance of fighting the disease

Yes, let's hope that Boris recovers, just as I wish that everyone recovers.

I also hope that he learns the value of the NHS and reconsiders the Tory policy/dogma of reducing it to just a basic safety net for those who cannot afford private insurance.
I know he'll be getting private care, but at the moment that's something of a blurred line. I hope he sees first hand that it is staffed by people who really will do whatever it takes for someone else's benefit. These people and the job they do should be appreciated and valued, not classed as low-skilled, and not starved of the resources to do it properly.

I agree that time and money is wasted and lost through inefficiencies throughout the system, and that does need to be addressed. But there is a fundamental premise at stake here: should the NHS be just a last resort for those without cash to go private? Or should it be a service that we are proud of, providing medical support to every citizen? Currently I feel it is the latter, but with the government support of the former.

It would be nice if Boris at least feels embarrassed at his active support of groups who have pushed for handing control of the NHS to US groups and sees the hypocrisy of doing this whilst claiming to have the best interests of the NHS at heart.

I hope he also understands that the scrambled realignment of resource to combat the virus and treat him, means that others, like the guy I posted about, are actually having their treatment cancelled and their lives shortened.

But I doubt it.

... and, of course, we'll all be sure to protect it, won't we? :shifty:

Even Boris may now regret eulogising a group committed to handing it over to US interests and using public funds to support them. Who knows?!!

My friend in London is still intubated and in ICU.
However, he remains stable and requires less oxygen as the day wears on.

Now 11 days since he was admitted.
