Jobs for the boys

Post by blythburgh » Mon May 18 2020 10:19am

Just before Waveney and Suffolk Coastal District Councils were merged they formed a Town Council for Lowestoft and a Parish Council for Oulton Broad. A big shock was that a lot of people who said they lived in Oulton Broad were outside of the new Parish boundary.

The Lowestoft Town Councillors do not sit as members of a party but a huge party political party row has erupted over the Heads of the committees for the year ahead. The current Mayor, a lady who is not affliated to any politcal party but prefers to feel she is affliated to her ward on the Town Council, is furious that despite able woman wishing to be in charge of various committees none have been chosen.

She says the Labour Party and The Green Party agreed in advance who would chair the committees and they were all men.

Trouble is by the time the next election comes up this will have been forgotten unless it is repeated year on year
