Currently 25% up. I seriously think we should look to sell to crystallize a profit and release some funds for another purchase.
Any good ideas of what we should invest in, to replace this one? Gold seems to be the most opportune investment in my eyes. We really should have sold up a number of our shares and put the money into this, Ramsdens or Codemasters. There might still be an opportunity at Bakkavor but I can't quite get my head around why a food manufacturer's share has not recovered significantly and steadily.
Not really, I have done any particular research because I didn't think that was our current method for selecting potential shares. We have been using 3 recommendations/tips and then doing our own research against these before then voting.

This is true. I was thinking aloud about what opportunities consolidating our current holdings had really. Having read a bit about Pure Gold recently it would seem it is entirely possible this share could move towards the 70p mark, which would see a very handsome increase. My worry is we sell this one now for a good profit and buy something else in a volatile market, which will not offer the same potential as this one already has.
I still like the idea of potentially selling up a number of our shares and consolidating within ~4 different ones, looking to see where we could take advantage of the shares that offer most potential. However, it is certainly not without risk.

i'm not part of the share club, and i haven't done any reseearch into this company,
but the fact that they're a gold miner And that their assets are in a dollar-friendly country gets over a major hurdle. there's real potential for gold miners in africa/russia/turkey/china to have assets seized if things go badly in the coming months/years.

True in a bygone era but no longer true in the world of today. Every country, and I mean every country in the world is making every effort to:
Be a safe country to do business in. The damage to reputation of seizing assets would be a catastrophic blow to future of foreign businesses with deep pockets conducting business in that country.

I think there are those you would be confident in relying on their efforts and those you would not. Canada would fall into the former and all of the others into the latter!

I changed my view on this one to buy last night. I think it is going to fly, much more than the current price suggests.

Some more news about why this share should be considered a buy rather than a sell,
here.
