We voted, free and fair. This is the choice we made. And I live by it everyday.

I'm hoping for the best outcome for everyone.
We can still shout when we see something we don't like. We don't have to just shrug and accept our fate.

The Conservative's won 43.6% of the popular vote so a minority not a majority voted for them.

That's normal. The only time there's been a >50% vote was the for the National Government in 1931 and 1935, which was a cross-party government.

Labour's 'landslide' victory in 1997 was 43.2% of the votes cast.

For whatever reason many people choose not to vote.

Me, personally I always vote.

This is a worthwhile piece about the ongoing dismantling of our democracy under cover of Brexit:
https://chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.co ... rexit.html
Crucially, nowhere, ever, in any way whatsoever was it suggested that the 2016 Referendum was a vote for such a ‘coup’. Nowhere, ever, in any way whatsoever was it suggested that the pledge at the last election to ‘Get Brexit Done’ meant using it as a cover to undertake such far-reaching changes.

In this respect, what is happening is potentially far more serious than the dishonest way in which the vote for an undefined Brexit was repurposed as a vote for hard Brexit or even for no deal Brexit. For, now, it is being used as a mandate for wholesale changes to the British political system which are nothing at all to do with delivering Brexit.

Anyway, back to topic... it's now been revealed Sir Mark Sedwill is being paid nearly a quarter of a million to step down, quite likely as a means to avoid potential litigation...

If true, £250,000 is a lot of money by any standard.

Didn't he do well.
