To redeem your Fix Your Bike Government Voucher, follow the steps below:
e.g Halfords
Step 1 - Book your free bike assessment on this page and choose a time and store that suits you.
Step 2 - Bring your bike, Government voucher and approved form of identification to your chosen Halfords store. We’ll validate your Government voucher and undertake a free 32-point bike assessment, to identify any repairs or maintenance needed.
Step 3 - Approve the repairs and apply your voucher. Your mechanic will talk you through the repairs required and how you can put your voucher towards the the cost of getting your bike back on the road. They’ll then order any parts required to fix your bike.
Step 4 - Book a repair appointment in store at a time that is convenient for you. You can either leave your bike at your local store, or bring it back at the time of the your repair appointment with our bike mechanic.
Step 5 - Collect your bike. We’ll call to inform you when your bike is ready for collection. You’ll be able to put your voucher towards the cost of the repair work, which will cover the first £50 of your repairs and you can simply pay the difference if your repairs cost more than £50.
The Fix Your Bike Voucher Scheme aims to encourage more people in England to embrace cycling as an alternative to private cars and public transport, particularly while social distancing measures are in place. The scheme will be open to anyone who has an cycle in need of a repair. It will help them get it back on the road by providing £50 towards the cost of a service and repair for up to two cycles per household.
Search for your local participating businesses using this map (https://fixyourbikevoucherscheme.est.org.uk/Home/Map).
We are still registering businesses onto the scheme so you may want to check back if your local shop is not listed.
The UK government is also supporting the Big Bike Revival to deliver ‘pop-up’ repair stations in some areas, offering basic repairs free of charge. You may want to consider this option if convenient and available in your area instead of applying for a voucher - further details and a map of locations is available here (https://www.cyclinguk.org/bigbikerevival).
