Ministers are due to finalise details of a series of "travel corridors" so people arriving into the UK on certain routes will not need to quarantine.

Most of Western Europe is due to be on an initial list of exempt countries.

The countries expected to be exempt include France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Belgium, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Turkey and Finland.

Yes, fabulous news. I can take her to Paris

It has been confirmed France is on the list, which comes into effect from 10th July.

Paris here she comes...
I am pleased to confirm that Covid-19 has failed to dim the eternal romance that is Paris.

'im indoors cousin has been looking forward to their Golden Wedding Celebrations for months. Only 18 allowed so she has had to cut the guests down to cousins and spouses, neices and spouses plus her (and husband's) children/grandchildren.

No it looks as if the celebration will have to be cancelled. I am devasted for her, she is a lovely lady and her husband is getting more and more selfish and demanding. Poor man has glaucoma in one eye, wet eye macular degeneration in the other. His sight has got so bad he can not see the TV clearly any more. And to make things worse he has Parkinson's Disease and his condition is noticeably worse than at the start of the year. A friend said her once kind and caring husband went the same way as his Motor Neurone Disease worsened.

Over your years of posting, one thing is obvious - What a sickly bunch of relatives, friends and aquaintances you have! Don't you know anyone who's even reasonably healthy? ;)

It comes from knowing so many older people I guess. But my family are all in Oz and the sunshine is keeping them ridiculously healthy. 'im indoors family are healthy too, the in laws are the unhealthy ones.

It sounds like your cousin-in-law(?) needs to check his eyesight, in which case it is allowed to break any of the Coronavirus restrictions. So long as you do this in a very specific and limited way, this government will uphold that it is perfectly acceptable.

I am so happy to say that the Golden Wedding Celebrations will take place. They had to reduce it to 18 people. The hotel say if we sit at three tables and do not socialise with people at other tables it is within the law. So 18 people who know each other will behave as if they were at a restaurant and not go over to chat to people at other tables. But I bet there is a bit of shouting from one table to another at times.
