Bit of food advice needed

Post by xxxraichxxx » Thu Feb 18 2021 6:57pm

I bought this Aldi loaded brownie from the fridge section today and I've eaten half of it. (I'm currently pregnant 26 weeks!!)

It says to cook it in the microwave for 1.5 mins, or oven for 25 mins but doesnt say you can eat it cold on the packaging like it usually would if it could be either hot OR cold

Im already half way through it and I've just realized. Now I'm panicking ( a teeeeeny bit :? )

anyone know if this is ok to be eaten cold?

If it's in the fridge I would say fine to eat cold.

It says keep in the fridge below 5c once opened.

I would be more worried about the amount of calories you are consuming.

I can't read the text in the picture very easily or quickly find the same product on their website, but surely it's basically going to be sponge, so isn't likely to be risky to eat cold. Probably would be liquid/viscous if not already baked. I expect they only suggest heating it to make it more enjoyable.

I think they are treating it as a pudding. And people usually like their puds cold.

And do not worry about the calories. You have not eaten it all at one go after all. Pregnant women do not need to "eat for two" but just eat sensibly and include a treat in the diet. As long as the treat is treated like one there is not a problem.

Also remember you will not get your figure back in a couple of weeks like the celebs who boast about it. Unlike them you will still have to do the housework, cooking looking after Leo etc as well as all the needs of a new baby. Nor do you have a personal trainer forcing you to go beyond what you want to do when exercising.

I think you would be fine.
Most food poisons issue are to do with protein and dairy
A proper Brownie would have egg in it but I suspect this has preservatives etc
Might be wise not to eat anymore
