household appliances

The Govt. wants to bring in new rules so that out stuff can be repaired not binned. Not before time either.

We had a very good microwave. We had not intended to get rid of it because we had a new kitchen. Must admit we did get rid of the washing machine, but it was over 20 years old and we wanted a washer dryer this time. But we have a new microwave because our old (well not very old actually) had broken down. It had a touch system and the bit you touch to turn it on no longer worked. We tried to find a repairer but the local shop that sells and repairs stuff could not help. They repaired our washing machine but said sorry microwaves was something they could not help with.

Now we have a lovely Beko microwave that was a lot cheaper than some on the market. But Which recommended it and we are happy. And yes the colour does fit in with the kitchen more than the old black and chrome microwave but if it had not broken down we would have kept it.

We got a new TV about a year ago when we signed up for BT TV and got Now TV sport added to the bundle. Our lovely Samsung smart TV was too old and did not support it. Samsung had chosen not to upgrade their older TV's, if we had bought the TV a year later it would have been upgraded to support what we wanted to watch. Nothing wrong with the TV but it had to be replaced and given away

Actually, it's not 'the government wants to'... It's from an EU directive.

Another of those meddling things that we're free from now we've left the meddling bureaucrats of Brussels. But our government has chosen to Take Back Control and do it anyway.

We'll stay largely aligned because it's in our interests to and the people who were lied to the first time will be lied to all over again. And they'll still blame everyone else for their woes, instead of blaming the liars.

Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get me
