Beware of runaway cattle in Heacham

Post by blythburgh » Fri May 14 2021 10:28am

Some bullocks I think have escaped from a field. Not so much as a bull in a china shop but in a lounge as one smashed in the patio doors and got in.

One had to be shot after attacking farmer, one was coaxed back into the trailer. Others are still at large

They'll have to swim well to worry me!

Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get me

Heacham is on the coast so they could be heading your way. Or they could swim in the other direction and end up in Lincolnshire

But if you go for a walk in the countryside and you fancy crossing a grass field check for cattle first. They probably will not be bothered about you walking across, often you can take your dog across. But some animals of all cattle breeds can be more bad tempered than others. If they have calves with them then they will certainly be more likely to charge you.

And if you walk your dog across a field of cattle and they start to head in your direction let go of the lead. The dog can run away from them faster than you. Failure to do so could end up with you being trampled to death.
