1 Indonesian Rupiah? (approx £0.000050)
Correct. Slightly tongue in cheek, but with a nod to another thread, I would say that's the approximate worth of one IM share.

MSE is promoting/celebrating this Aldermore Bank 1% fixed rate (1 year). These are hard times!

One I hadn't heard of before:
1.75% on £250 a month for 14 months. Opened in second online:

Thanks, parchedpeas.

Maximum deposits over the term earn £38 of interest. Hardly feels worth the bother (a sentiment which is entirely inconsistent with coming here to daily clicks to earn £12-13 a year)

I agree entirely. Unfortunately I've developed an unhealthy obsession with "winning" against the banks that I can't shift, even though it's barely worth it now. So I'll pick up any of these that allow wihtdrawals at any time.

Not interested in the HSBC / FD style 12-month tie-ins for 1% anymore, mind. So I'm slowly weaning myself off them!

can you not get 2%+ at a Co-op, for example?
i'm bagging 2.25% on cash and best rate 6.1% on bitcoin.

That's an investment with your local society though, isn't it (not the co-operative bank); are you aware of anything similar for people outside Birmingham? Also IIRC it's not covered by the FSCS?

Obviously very good, but presumably the value of your bitcoins could go down as well as up! ;)

it is.. and i'm only aware to the extent that another couple of regional Co-ops i'm a member of, in different parts of the UK, do not offer such competitive rates... but MidCounties and Central England both cover large parts of England. no FSCS cover, but real worries that either of those Co-ops will go under?
