Will you mask up after Monday aka Freedom day

Post by blythburgh » Fri Jul 16 2021 10:52am

A lot of big shops are saying they will ask shoppers to mask up but I feel sorry for any small business that tries to get people to wear a mask if they want to come in.

Many in the transport industry would like masks to be mandatory on buses and trains.

But 'im indoors went down to the shops (were he put on his mask but removed it after leaving, And the bus pulled in as he reached the bus stop and so thought "why not" and hopped aboard.

Gets home and tells me. I say he will not have to wear his mask on the bus next week. "I forgot about the mask, I was not asked to put is on. And neither the driver or any of the passengers were wearing one either.

No wonder in East Suffolk Council area Covid cases are double last weeks and in neighhouring Gt Yarmouth they are treble. Admittedly from a low base in East Anglia but shows why the Govt. should have relaxed not removed the rules on so called Freedom Day.

I will do what i feel is appropriate to do at the time. Sometimes I will, sometimes I won't. My oodles of common sense will prevail.

If I get on a bus and the driver is wearing a mask , yes . If I go in a shop and all the staff are wearing masks , yes . Otherwise no .

When would be the right time to remove rules , the rules have already been relaxed ?

So follow the herd! Would it not be better if you had a mind of your own and looked to the safety of yourself and others rather than relying on what others were doing.

Generally speaking I think it is right that the rules have been removed. There will never be a right time. This is probably the best time. However I will certainly not rely as the government wants us to on the common sense of others. To many people have a herd rather than a personal/individual mentality. I suspect that so many will not follow common sense that the government will be forced to bring in some sort of rules/restrictions in the future.

Time will tell.

We can look forward to "New Infection Spike day" about 2-3 weeks after "Freedom Day" :shifty:

I guess it will be a test of vaccine effectiveness.......

No.
If i go to a shop that asks me to wear a mask then I will.
but i might shop somewhere else next time.
I've been doublke jabbed and I think it's about time that all the restrictions were lifted.
if business want to keep it going then good for them But i think they will lose customers.

Not following the herd , masks are apparently worn not to protect the wearer but to protect others so whatever I decide in wearing a mask or not it won't look after my safety.
