I knew this man was a lazy liar and a buffoon before Brexit. Yet he still managed to become PM and get a huge majority (despite the party not getting a huge number of votes).

The tragedy is there are some who still think he should be PM despite everything and they will vote Tory because he is PM. But the far, far bigger tragedy is the amount of voters who will simply sit on their hands as he has dragged politics in to so much mud they cannot be bothered to vote thinking all politicians of all colours are no better.

My MP is a man I will never vote for but will always have respect for. I am lucky in that but others are not and those turn people off politics which means the extremists can take power more easily

One aspect of the Johnson era that may cause the Tories to rue his premiership, is that the people who were persuaded to vote Tory for the first time in the wake of Brexit will almost certainly reject the party in future, having been "burned" by all the scandals around the Johnson era. It is to cauterize this gaping wound that many Tories will now consider it necessary to ditch the pilot before he crashes and burns completely.

Then again, who knows with people nowadays...............

Do not forget that this is the man who as Mayor of London bought three water cannon for more than £320,000 in order to subjugate the people and then when Teresa May as Home Secretary refused to authorise their use had to be sold for £11,000 some years later. This is not a man who respects democracy.

And now the hard right has got its way and fired the gun to destroy the BBC.

And sadly many people who voted Tory for the first time are so convinced Starmer is hard left wing and will take us back into the EU that they will support Johnson whatever he does.

Starmer is not hard left and nor does he want to take us back into the EU. But the hard right press and the conspiracy theory posters will never let the truth get in the way of what they want Joe and Jo public believe.

A majority of 8 votes won the seat for CON in this result yesterday. Just another reminder why everyone should always make the effort to vote and oppose the voter suppression our government is undertaking.

An elderly lady posted this in our local community FB page. I first saw it when I checked to see if I had any new FB posts and it said she was asking for my help. DH is a FB friend and says she posted the same comment several times.

I would like to comment on Boris Johnson.I think he had a little time relaxing with a drink to counterbalance a very difficult situation, if you look at the pictures no-one was in party clothes and they were all sitting apart, to call it a party was a miss judgement in my opinion.

She's confusing different events. There haven't been any photos released from the May 20 party, but the e-mail invite makes it clear what type of event it was (bring your own booze). Perhaps she also hasn't even heard of the regular Friday events, with the suitcases full of wine...

I think she has missed the point that it was an organised party with around 100 invitees, asked to bring their own booze. And this was expressly outside the rules. Boris attended this event, but denied or failed to disclose it at first, then claimed it was a work event (clearly it wasn't), then claimed he didn't know about it (others are prepared to swear in a court that he did know), and still claims it was technically within the rules.

It is not just that he was at the event, it is the fact it took place at all, and that he has lied and mislead the public and parliament about it. And then throw in the fact that it wasn't a one-off. Various people in Westminster thought it was Ok for them to have a gathering, so long as the rest of us were denied the same.

If he wanted a drink to relax, he was perfectly able to do so in his garden without having everyone else there.
