The BBC starts fighting.....

Post by macliam » Wed Feb 09 2022 1:28pm

Has anyone else noticed that, just recently, the gloves seem to be off in BBC news reporting.

Reports around Johnson's slander against Starmer in Parliament point out that what he said was a LIE, not that it was incorrect, not that he was mistaken, not that he was referring to the organization in general, but that it was a LIE.

Today, when discussing the worrying sabre-rattling of the latest Bosnian-Serb hardman, Milorad Dodik, Jeremy Bowen addressed his claim that genocide never happened in Bosnia and said "the claims are FALSE", no beating about the bush.

Good - you can agree or disagree with a statement, but sitting on the fence has made "BBC balance" a laughing stock - I'd rather they tell "the truth" from their perspective.

As indicated by bb in the "How much longer?" thread, BBC R4 "More or Less" has addressed dome of the stats being bandied about by the Government in general, and Johnson in particular.

Some thorough reporting here, with the Beeb clearly repeating the content that was criticised.
