Actually, Richard, no. Or at least, not really.

The point about a limited liability company is that the owners have no liability for losses of the company. If a company makes profits, the retained profits increase the notional value of the shares and if the company makes losses, that value decreases. In practice, the value of shares is what someone will pay for them. And, as previously discussed, the value of an IM share is approximately nil.
