Yep, the government has come to the conclusion that the best way to lower the number of case/deaths being reported is to not count them.

They've probably chosen this course because the data shows that after the earlier than expected Freedom Day II at the end of February, cases jumped back to winter levels, and the deaths are now following a few weeks later. Some might consider that proof that the relaxation of restrictions was done too early and was a bad decision. But if we stop measuring the cases and deaths, those naysayers will have nothing to go on and can be dismissed as malcontent rumourmongers and probably remoaners to boot.

Warning: Covid is still out there. For the 2nd week running the Pakefield Church Wednesday Coffee Morning has been cancelled as too many helpers either have covid or are self isolating because someone in their home has covid.

But the hospitals are no longer testing any new patient for covid so a trip to hospital could easily put you at risk of getting it. For many people it will be a mild illness but for the more vulnerable it can be very serious even leaving to death.

So please continue to take all the precautions we have been doing for the last couple of years.

I said nothing to the daughters of Pat who lived across the road from me. They said he stayed away from people during covid and did not get it but a chest infection led to pneumonia. My unspoken thought was how do you know he did not have covid? One of the few visitors he had could have been a carrier but as the hospital no longer tests for covid how does anyone know? I could not add to their pain by suggesting they might have been responsible for their Dad's death but the thought remains with me that he might well be another covid victim. An elderly man with asthma would be at high risk of covid or any cold virus. But without a test who can tell what led to the pneumonia?

"The true story of the UK's vaccine rollout is hiding in plain sight"
Summing up:

1. Brexit had NO bearing on our early vaccine rollout; it was approved and procured under EU rules.

2. Brexit massively DELAYED our vaccine rollout after AZ became contraindicated for under 40's.

3. These facts have not only been concealed by Gov and media alike but in true 1984 fashion the truth has been completely reversed - we don't just have a lie we have an inversion of the truth

I've had both of mine.

The covid booster was Moderna, after previous Pfizer. It pretty much knocked me out for a day - not sick, just competely without energy, so slept for about 12 hours.

The flu had no great effect, except that a day later I noticed the injection site was really hot.... but not painful.

Final call for getting a COVID-19 vaccine with the NHS unless you're in a higher risk group...
After 30 June, the COVID-19 vaccine will only be offered to those at higher risk of serious infection.

So it will not be given at the same time as the flu jab for those who qualify for a free NHS one. Not sure if that is good way to save money as not the risk it was or a way to keep a some people out of the hair of the NHS (GP/hospital depending how bad Covid is for them). But I am no expert
