Brexit has been an unmitigated failure so far - and it is hard to see it providing any benefits long term. Of course, I would say that, as I'm one of those who said it was a stupid idea in the first place - and was told that I was being negative and that everything would work out OK. However, whilst the costs and drawbacks of Brexit are visible daily, be it the potential problems in NI, the queues for the import and export of goods, the limitations on previous "rights", the inability to coordinate energy policies, the inability to coordinate a response to Russia, the inability to source agricultural workers, the loss of financial and services business from the City and the total failure to control migration......... I have yet to see any concrete advantage from the "regained" sovereignty. Oh and before anyone cites "Covid" as an answer, just take off the blinkers and look to other countries in Europe to see how well the UK did......
But hey, blue(-ish) passports eh? If you live long enough to get one..........
I have a friend who poo-poos the idea of a trade-war with the EU, citing the good old "They need us more than we need them" lie..... this chart might suggest otherwise
