We do appear to have lost several of the most unapologetically far-right members of this forum in recent years, or they're keeping very quiet. I'm not going to lie, I don't miss hearing from them.

I tend to agree, but miss them or not, they do I feel have a right to a voice. I was just prompted to say it by the outrageous statement of Steve Baker,

The events of the next few weeks are really not that important, they have (hopefully) no lasting effect. Giving Bone a post really is scraping the barrel. Not for no reason has he never been in government in any way other than an MP before. The man is possibly even dodgier than Johnson with some very close misses regarding scandals in his career.

The important thing to watch is to see who is elected and who gets posts in the next government. The news programmes are really scraping the barrel with interviewing people about who would make a good PM for the future. The fact remains that unless there is a crowning less than 150.000 people will decide on who the next PM is and even they will only get a choice of two.

Steve Baker has decided not to enter the leadership contest. His poster was risible (if real). It's almost like he was never really serious about standing and might instead prefer influencing others to achieve his goals. He's apparently backing Suella Braverman now.

Steve Bray, the Brexit protestor outside Parliament, is now being shadowed by 2 uniformed police officers ALL DAY! Good to know that at a time when crimes can't be investigated due to "lack of resource" the Met can afford to send a couple of Bobbies to intimidate a protestor!
