Re: This governments shenanigans

There's not a single one of them that has a scooby..... those that supported Johnson at any point deserve to be excluded from any position of authority in future because they have proved they have no backbone. Javid lied to support his boss, Sunak is an out of touch rich-boy (like we need another). Truss is a joke, the rest are nobodies..... or worse.

Whoever they choose will have no authority. Johnson has not been deposed because of Pincher or Partygate or anything other than the fact that he thought he could challenge the "men in grey suits" and claimed a direct mandate from those who he conned in the last election. Johnson's ego was his downfall..... he simply began to believe the crap he spouted and forgot that he was just a tool of those who wanted to get things done "their way".

It happened now because he was getting out of control and his personal lack of morality was causing too many distractions from the programme of winding back the clock on the social advances of the past few decades and putting liberals back in their box. This is why those who have absolutely no qualification for the job of PM (Sunak, perhaps) are being touted - what is needed is someone who can be controlled and who will be the "useful idiot" in their plans (Truss, anyone?). Whoever wins, it will not be anyone likely to challenge the boys in the backroom and it will be someone who can carry out their plans to defuse the issues threatening continued Tory control in the future.

So, round 1 of the vote to exclude 99.9% of the electorate from any say in their future is over.....

Image

- now we are left with 6 people who were never voted into any position of power.....
Sunak, the out-of-touch rich boy
Mordaunt, the liar about Turkish EU membership
Truss, the lightweight would-be Thatcher
Badenoch..... who?
Tugendhat.....what?
Braverman, the embarassment of the right-wing.

Hard to expect anything much from any of them....

Mordaunt is looking increasingly well placed to run away with this now, but she's an ERG member, so nobody should be in any doubt how dangerous she might be. Their initial support for Braverman could just be deflection.

Interesting that the number of extra votes for Sunak don't even tally with the Hunt supporters.....

Monday could be interesting

Badenoch..... who?

Braverman, the embarassment of the right-wing.
If you think Braverman is right-wing you have not read what Badenoch says. This is a bit about her views and why she is a nasty bit of work:

Badenoch has also criticised the Online Harms Bill, claiming that it risks criminal statements about biology and sex, and described herself as an “aid sceptic”.

“We had an Online Harms Bill, which was supposed to look at very serious crime, online terrorism, child porn and deal with that, and it has now grown. It is trying to fix loads of other problems that were not originally intended to solve. Legislation is not always the answer. We’ve now got to the point where we’re legislating for hurt feelings. I think it’s going to have significant freedom of speech issues.”

Tell the parents of children who were bullied so much suicide seemed the only way out. I thought Priti Patel was the worst of the "we are here now shut the door" people but Badenoch is even nastier.

Yeah, she's pretty vile. Interesting though that Braverman and her hard-right followers are now boosting Truss instead of her... almost like Badenoch is too extreme even for them. Surely not; so perhaps just less easily influenced than Truss, who previously campaigned to remain in the EU, as well as being a former Liberal Democrat?

There is an interesting cultural thing going on..... the children of immigrant parents with a reputation for being very pushy seem to have found a home in the right-wing of the Tory party. I have heard some of her statements and she seems to have very clear views on what she wants..... but then, so did Mosley. The right-wing of the Tory party is fighting for ascendancy..... hopefully this will spur others into opposing them before we sleepwalk into further autocracy.

Anone supporting a change to the relationship with the ECHR should be sent on a one-way cultural exchange to Rwanda, IMO.

Is the party that claims to be delivering on the people's priorities going to put Liz Truss at the helm?
