5 pledges. Old news, heard it all before. Nothing new here. Move on keep the queue moving.
“No tricks, no ambiguity, we’re either delivering for you or we’re not.”
Rishi Sunak asks the country to judge his premiership on five promises: to halve inflation, grow the economy, reduce debt, cut hospital waiting lists and stop migrant crossings.

Never forget our esteemed PM is as much a Thatcherite as Truss. He was a brexiteer although told it would damage his future. Admire him for having a thing he is prepared to forego ministerial office for but cannot see that he was right about Brexit. And it is obvious Brexit is a failure in many ways. But he is a hard right Tory and that is not good for the country. In some ways Johnson would be a better PM at the moment. But I am not in the "bring back Boris" camp and never will be

Well, that seems to have gone well......
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-64207220

"Following discussions at the Department of Health, Unite negotiator Mr Kasab said the government had suggested that any one-off payments would have to be based on "productivity savings".He said that some of his members were working 18 hour shifts and that it was "an insult to every single one of our members" to discuss productivity.

"We are extremely angry," he added."

Presumably the Tories are after driver-only ambulances and nurses with six arms.

Prats.

Thatcher privatised hospital cleaning. I heard that a woman who loved her job as a cleaner became depressed as not only were her hours cut but she had to clean two wards not one. She said she could no longer do a proper job.

Is it any surprising the amount of in hospital infections there are these days?
