SunLife Over 50s Plan £110 Offer

Post by Sarah » Sat Oct 29 2022 7:26am

https://www.sunlife.co.uk/gift/

The welcome gift is currently a £110 love2shop/flexecash gift card, awarded after 6 payments.

Monthly premiums from £3.70, so potentially up to £87.80 profit if cancelled promptly after receiving the gift.

The policy has no value when cancelled and also within the first year has no value even if you die with cover!

I haven't done this before... going to try it now. The final bi-monthly prize draw in 2022 takes place on 5 November 2022 therefore acting promptly might qualify for a chance to win £10K this year.

Cheapest policy it offered me is £7/month but still a decent profit.

Yeah, same here. It said that cheaper premiums might be available by telephone, but I'm not motivated enough to engage with that possibility.

Signed up. Their welcome e-mail was automatically diverted into a spam folder.

They called me today about my policy, asking for DoB and then address.

Almost certainly legit but bad practice to start asking for personal data on an unsolicited call.

Those being details requested during the application, presumably they were just checking for a match to confirm your identity? Unless the call had no other purpose, which would be a little odd... perhaps it was an attempt to upsell? I noticed as soon as the application was submitted, they say hey did you know that you can also have another policy as well, lol!

Just received a similar call, I believe they're checking details for compliance purposes and avoidance of mistakes, whilst also trying to upsell higher premiums.

Sadly they still wont accept me for this offer

About 15 years ago they offered a satnav after 3 monthly payments I think I got 3 on different products plus the 3 on my wife's name as well, the odd time I have tried I get a rejection due to my address/previous applications. All 6 sat navs were sold for good prices on eBay

Likewise, just received my gift card today, 3 months early (3 premiums paid).

Presumably you cancelled your direct debit immediately?
