Lord Cameron of Austerity as foreign secretary and Not-So-Cleverly as Home Secretary..... what a dearth of talent in the Tory party and what despisement for the British Public.
A Public School toff promotes a disgraced Public School toff into one of the senior ministerial roles by awarding him a peerage for his services in destroying the economy and then running away.
Hopefully, Braverman and her cabal will poison any remaining hope of Richboy remaining leader.

Doesn't matter.... by being made a peer he can serve as minister.
Added bonus (for him) is that he won't be turfed out on his backside at the next election, because we'll be paying him for his unelected services in the HoL.
Politics in the UK is a farce.

"Smoke and bells" The much heralded "Autumn statement" was today. Despite Mr Hunt MP giving the appearance of giving lots of money away, including a surprise drop in the NI rate of 2%. Because of the failure to uprate the starting rate when tax is paid from its current level of £12570.00 the overall tax take by our government to you and I goes up. What's more is that the independent Office of Budget Responsibility has predicted that UK growth will slow down from its current level over the next few years. he has done nothing to decrease the countries burgeoning debt level. AS I said "Smoke and bells"

Ultimately, the OBR says living standards, as measured by real household disposable income per person, are forecast to be 3.5% lower in 2024-25 than their pre-pandemic level - the largest reduction in real living standards since official records began in the 1950s.

And do not forget the millions who have already or will in the next few years start paying income tax or higher rate tax because of the freeze on updates.
Maybe the cost would be too great at the moment but raising the amount you can earn before paying tax helps the poorest the most.
Keep smiling because the light at the end of someone's tunnel may be you, Ron Cheneler

Actually, it helps all taxpayers, and the highest earners the most as it reduces the amount income taxed at higher rates. It would help low income households more if the reduction in universal credit was less steep. IIRC, withdrawal of UC as people earn more amounts to an effective tax rate of 55%.
