i've chased and chased, and finally have it this evening. TSB are awful CS-wise. they always seem to be pleasant folk, but they consistently don't do what they say they will do, and their systems aren't joined up.

nowadays i'm just using NS&I for all 20 transactions.
done July, August, September, October, November and so just December to go and then will probably close the account. fwiw i have been generating the transactions on the way in and then have transferred the funds into Premium Bonds.

has anyone by any chance tried going beyond the 6 months to see if the £5/m can be bagged over an extended period?

Actually yes, since a few months back they sent me the "Your 6-month cashback period is ending at the end of this month" e-mail at the start of the month after I thought it had finished. I did complete the transactions for an extra month but they didn't pay out. Ongoing cashback is a feature of the Spend & Save Plus account with a £3 monthly fee.
I'll probably be applying for yet another Spend & Save account this weekend.

you could use that letter to bag the extra £5 if you wanted to Sarah.
oh yes another S&S is a decent shout actually. might as well bag £5s on monthly payments into PBs.
better to just get another fresh one than pay £3/m and only gain £2/m.

need to have closed previous TSB accounts first to qualify for the £30 though i believe Sarah.
worth closing and re-applying as it doubles the return over 6 months.
i'll see if the offer is still available in early January.

That's not usually necessary. I've already churned through at least 10 of their Spend & Save accounts without missing any cashback; most of the time having 2 of them simultaneously under 6 months old. Still got 7 open right now. I usually alternate between TCB and Quidco. Claim on the Highest Cashback Guarantee to always achieve the best rate.
