There are those who agree with and those who are convinced to agree with and I fall into neither of those categories ....

And, while I come to think of it, dividends are taxable as income in the hands of the recipient. Cashback isn't. Not at the moment, anyway. The eagle-eyed amongst you might have noticed that HMRC is suggesting cashback paid by companies such as Hargreaves Lansdown on fund purchases should be taxed in the same way as dividends. The HL-type cashback principle is the same - it's your own money which is being refunded - and, if HMRC thinks it's worth having a go at firms such as HL, it might well try companies offering cashback on other purchases (including iMutual) next. Having said that, I don't see this happening imminently - certainly not within the next two years - if at all.

Cashback companies take the view that cashback on purchases is a discount rather than income. free cashback is income and you shold declare it. :?

It's brand new and still in its shrink wrap. But if you want me to remove you from the draw to save you from the embarrassment of turning the prize down.....

It is shrink wrapped????????????

Surely nobody wants it then, well nobody who has tried to remove shrink wrap from anything without damaging it.
