It is your fault - but not for pullin out at he last minute.

It's for weaitin till the last minute to tell us you weren't gonna cum!

If we'd known before now you weren't goin we would all have supported the do!

I think a major problem is the cost of transport. It'd cost more than someone's shareholding is worth (perhaps more than it'll ever be worth or even more than most people's earned cashback) to attend the meeting, which from a pure cost basis doesn't really make much economic sense. I suspect if you held it in London then at least members around the city with pre-existing or cheap access to a Travelcard might attend!

Don't agree with sara first point
I suspect alot of people might hav gone but didn't for various reasons
but I doubt for (m)any of them it was cost
But I think sara's 2nd point mite be valid
I think almost everyone was gonna travel for the Brumy meatin
Matbe have one in a City with a defo time and date/plaice
and 'I'm gonna be there even if I'm on me own' approach :)

Agree completly with Sarah. Cost of travel for Birmingham would have been prohibitive compared to any cashback earned.
"I think almost eb=veryone was gonna travel for the Brumy meatin" imutual has a membership now of over 1200 people. Kev you are in cloud cuckoo land.

Well I could be flippant and say that nobody actually lived in the pub and so everyone was travelling ;)

Weekend rail fares don't cost much, though I accept it can take a fair chunk of time.

When I ran Rpoints, we held an annual get-together and those that attended weren't just in it for the cashback (or free drinks!). These were individuals who already spent a great deal of their time contributing to the website, beyond what could be justified in purely financial terms. In attending the get-togethers, they were motivated several other factors, including the chance to meet in person those with whom they interacted online on a daily basis. And there was also the fact that they felt 'involved' in Rpoints' development and could influence its future

imutual's potential is far greater, as is the opportunity for members to get involved (courtesy of its unique member-owned structure). So I do see a time when such get-togethers will by very popular and happen on a regular basis. And I have no regrets in trying to kick this off, but it was always going to be difficult with just over 1000 registered members. Rpoints peaked at over 200,000 but there were never many more than 20 at its 'events'
